Chapter 9: Review, Approval, and Compliance

Review should improve the work, not slow it down without purpose. The best review systems are clear about who owns what, what must be checked, and what can be decided quickly.

Review layers

  • Creative review.
  • Brand review.
  • Legal or compliance review.
  • Stakeholder review.
  • Final release approval.

Useful review questions

  • Does this match the strategy?
  • Does it sound like the brand?
  • Is the message clear?
  • Are claims supportable?
  • Is anything risky, misleading, or off-tone?
  • Are the deliverables technically correct?

Avoidable review problems

  • Open-ended feedback.
  • Too many reviewers at once.
  • Late-stage reinvention.
  • Conflicting instructions.
  • No final decision owner.

Review principle

Review should not only judge the finished asset. It should also improve the prompt logic, reference selection, and generation rules so the next iteration is better from the start.
